Our History
At Lazy J Ranch Wear Stores, we are proud to carry on a legacy that spans four generations. Our story begins with Tom Humphries (T.E.), who made the journey from North Carolina to Texas in the late 1800s. Starting as a ranch hand at the Halsell Ranch in Graford, Texas, T.E. worked his way up to become the foreman and eventually started his own ranching operations. It was during this time that he introduced the Lazy J brand, which became synonymous with quality and tradition.
Tom Humphries Jr., T.E.'s son, continued the family legacy with a focus on Hereford cattle. The love for ranching and the traditions passed down from generation to generation were then embraced by Jim Humphries, the third-generation rancher.
Today, Brad Humphries, the fourth generation honors his family's heritage through the Lazy J Ranch Wear line of apparel and caps. Our brand is a testament to the values of hard work, the western lifestyle, and the appreciation for good Hereford cattle. For the love of ranching, hard work, western lifestyle and good Hereford Cattle, Brad carries on the family tradition.
